Don't know if you saw the forecast for this week but newsflash we have a heat wave coming in. If you are thinking of heading down to the beach here are some spots to check out! It is hot this week and everyone wants to go somewhere cooler. Santa Monica is only 15 - 20 minutes away from Beverly Hills and its worth the drive. Santa Monica is a gold mine when it comes to food, and Stella Barra is one of those gems. Located on Main St. walking distance to the beach is this wonderful restaurant. Main St is home to many restaurants and the way they are setup makes you feel like you are somewhere far away from LA. It has that Euro appeal: seating on the sidewalk, people riding bikes, walking dogs. You get the picture here, it's casual yet upscale which is exactly what Santa Monica is. The restaurant itself is modern and chic with two sides to it. They have a delicious menu which offers classics such as meatballs to mozzarella Milanese. (The meatballs are my favorite by the way!)Their pizzas are handmade and perfectly baked in a pizza oven.  It is a semi open kitchen concept where you can see the cooks rolling out the dough and tossing it in the oven. Elephanté has to to be on my top five places to go dine out in Santa Monica. They have been open since June of 2018 and they are crushing it! The Mediterranean vibe/ambiance is very fitting when by the ocean. Speaking of which, you have a full frontal ocean view of Santa Monica waters! It is a rooftop beach house which makes it different from any other restaurant nearby. Seating all throughout the restaurant as well as the deck which oversees the ocean. You're probably thinking to yourself "Enough with the descriptions, just get to the food already!" It is Italian cuisine with plenty of options to choose from. From salads to pasta and of course Branzino there is a variety to choose from. If you are not in the mood to eat and looking for a place to just grab a drink you can feel free to that here. There is a bar right in the middle of the restaurant with seating that goes all around. Come grab a drink mingle or have a good time friends. Miraval is a go to wine for all Rosé drinkers and if you haven't had it yet, you should. Being from Provence is already a good indicator that it is quality wine. With notes of strawberry and peach this makes it a perfect drink for a summer day. It is on the drier side and of course light! If you like Rosé give this one a try, you'll love it. Average price point is $25. Laurent Perrier Champagne Rosé This is an iconic Rosé Champagne with a 96 point rating. Ultimate Luxury in my opinion when it comes to drinking Rosé Champagne. It has notes of red fruit, citrus and of course brioche. This pairs well with just about any seafood, serve it chilled and enjoy! Average price point is $70 Gilbert Picq Chablis 2018 Chablis is essentiallty chardonnay excpect Chablis is not placed in oak like chardonnay does. This means you taste the grape it its true form, it doesn't have that buttery taste. It is fairly light and tastes wonderful with notes of citrus and pear. Pair this with cheese or any seafood. Average price point is $30.
