Beverly Hills Newsletter West Side of Melrose Melrose Ave, one of LA's most iconic streets known for a myriad of shopping and dining! Melrose is home to many new and old restaurants that cater to the Beverly Hills, West Hollywood locals and tourists from near and far. Melrose Place LA Melrose Place is the new kid on the block that has already made a statement bigger than its competitors. 8,000 square feet of dining space spread out between three floors, serving upscale casual California hits. Offering fresh seafood to 40oz tomahawk steaks, they have options for everyone. You have a beautiful rooftop scenery of West Hollywood from their patio which oversees the Hills. It is a great scene if you like sitting by the bar, mingling, and just immersing yourself in the ambiance. What to order here? -Fresh Oysters -Yellowtail Crudo -Steak Frites Their rooftop is open until 12am on most nights giving you another place to go at night. “To eat is a necessity, but to eat intelligently is an art” – Francois de la Rochefoucauld Catch LA Catch LA is as LA as it gets! Now I know it's in the name, but they do a fantastic job capturing and representing the overall scene of Los Angeles. I have been to the one one in Las Vegas and the one in New York. All three do an excellent job curating and customizing each location to its clientele. At the end of the day, about 50% of the restaurant is based on the ambiance it provides. Catch Hospitality Group knows what they're doing and in my opinion they are the best when it comes to a so- called Hospitality Group. They do not veer away from their niche. Their newest addition which is Catch Steak is another great place which I will review in a future article. They have a fantastic bar which sits right in the middle of the restaurant. Upon entry they have a beautiful rooftop walkway which leads you to the hostess to check in. Everything on their menu is delicous and offers a variety of options to choose from. "I am drinking the stars" - Dom Pierre Perginon Mar De Frades - AlbarinĖo 2019 Imported from the northwest of Spain called Galicia is this magnificent bottle of wine. Not only is the wine bottle beautiful but they capture what it represents and pairs great with. They have a photo of a wave, giving you the indication it pairs well with all kinds of seafood and fresh salads. It is citrusy with notes of green apple and pear with an earthy note at the end. Average price is $23 (Available at Wallys) The Vice Single Vineyard Cabernet This is a classic cab with oak and black fruit notes which pairs great with any kind of meat or hard cheese. Founder of "The Vice" Malek Armani is a Moroccan native who knows how to make wine. They have more selections than the wine I chose to review today. Average price for this bottle is $70 Gratiot and Cie Champagne This is a niche and boutique vineyard where not many people know about it. This is a true Champagne without any of the fancy labels that stands true to its core.
