january16th Beverly Hills Newsletter Volume #1 NewYear New Hot Spots2023 is here and Los Angeles Restaurateurs are on the rise! There are many new restaurants opening up this year but these are the three places I am shedding light on. The key aspects I look for in a place is ambiance, food, and quality. I believe these are the traits a restaurant must have to be successful.Steak 48"Another steakhouse?........Really David?" Here me out on this one, I know LA is home to many steakhouses including new ones like Hideaway, all the way down to the classics such as Mastro's. Steak 48 may be the new kid on the block in Beverly Hills but the owner is definitely not. Steak 48 is owned by the original Mastro family. For those who are not aware Mastro's Steakhouse has been sold years ago as it is no longer owned by the family themselves. Mastro's had been bought out by Landry's a restaurant chain who also owns Palm, Morton's, and so on. Steak 48 has over 9 locations throughout the US and they do upscale dining wonderfully. From the service to the ambiance, it is a must go! Consider it the new Mastro's if you will"You don't need to have inspirational quotes when you have good food" - UnknownDante at the MaybourneIf you know me then you know I love the Maybourne Hotel in Beverly Hills. The hotel itself is stunning and the ambiance sets the place over the top in my books. From the lobby bar to the terrace dining, this place is superb. This former Montage Property has turned into a new hotspot and with their new project on the way I believe it is one of the best hotels in LA. Let me introduce you to Dante! If any of you know this classic spot then you must have been to NY. This legendary 1915 circa café is coming to the Maybourne Hotel in Spring of 2023. Dante is a legendary restaurant and apertivo bar that has been a staple of Greenwich Village, which at the time was known as "South Village". Let's just put it this way, it was voted World's Best Bar in 2019! I think this should speak for itself. Dante is going to be at the rooftop of the Maybourne offering panoramic views across the city.TBD....Evan Funke AKA the pasta maestro is opening a restaurant in the middle of Beverly Hills. For those of you who don't know Evan Funke, he is the owner of Felix in Venice and Mother Wolf in Hollywood. These restaurants are both very well praised amongst the community. They offer a beautiful ambiance and a fantastic menu. His new Beverly Hills restaurant will seat 180 guests spread out over three floors. It will be located on 9388 Santa Monica Boulevard which is right by Wally's and Mirame. This restaurant is supposed to represent his time spent in Italy over the last 15 years. Evan and his partner Kurt Rappaport are coming together to make this beautiful project come true.Wine of the Week“Age and glasses of wine should never be counted.” – Italian ProverbTroplong Mondot - Saint Emilion P.G.C Saint Emilion is crème de la crème, and it has made a name of itself over the years. The saying goes "History speaks for itself". With a bold taste and a dry finish this is classic Bordeaux at its finest. Enjoy this wine with just about any type of meat or heavy pasta. Average price is $180 Lynch Bages - Pauillac Grand Cru Pauillac is another great appellation located along Bordeaux's Médoc peninsula. This wine is bold, tannic and very dry. Don't let the word dry scare you! With the right food pairing the wine will change and develop. Average Price is $249 Cantalici - Petali Rosso Toscana There is no shame of drinking wine under $20. The issue is finding quality wine for that price. However, this Tuscany wine is fantastic! It is light, smooth and delicious! You can drink it as is or with some cheese and cured meat. Average Price is $15. David Yaghootian Beverly Hills Real Estate, I do not own the photos all praise and credit to the owners, bhnewsletter.com beverlyhillsnewsletter.com
