Here are my top two picks for the week.Dante I Maybourne HotelI may have mentioned Dante in its pre opening stages in a previous article; well, it's finally open. Dante is located on the top floor with crystal clear views overlooking the "Bird Streets". Dante has a certain elegance that it brings to its guests. Not only is it in a very prestigious hotel, but it is known as one of the, if not the best bar in Greenwich Village. They have a fantastic menu with a carefully selected wine list that pairs with just about anything that is offered on the menu. Don't forget the cocktails now! They are known for the best bar in NY for a reason! They have sensational martinis and negronis that hit the spot before a nice meal. Now, if you like a good martini, not only is this your new place but they also have a martini hour! From 3 - 5 PM daily you can sit luxuriously at the bar or table and enjoy some well crafted martinis for only $10. Whether you want to grab a drink or enjoy some views with a pizza and friends, this is a place to checkout Owa Venice II should have mentioned Venice much earlier but hey, better late than never. Venice is home to many delicious restaurants and lounges which is filled with locals! Owa is a brand new restaurant that has been open for about two weeks now. They are a Japanese restaurant featuring some great sushi and other dishes that feature an ambiance like no other. Imagine a hip Wally's with a young new take. They have a nice bar in the front that loops all around that seats plenty! This place is packed, but in a good way if that makes sense. Surrounded with a great class of locals and diners, this place is going to be the new staple of Venice. They also have a dining room in the back with its own sushi bar that also seats some guests. Music is pumping and the crowd is thriving! A great DJ with nice music selections that entertains its guests till close. There is a sun room like space in between the dining room and the bar where it eventually turns into a dance floor for guests to get loose after a drink or two. Whether you are looking to grab a drink, mingle, or people watch. Owa offers plenty for their locals and of course its visitors.
